Sharing the Treasure is our privilege and Responsibility
There
is nothing of greater value than the Gospel - the good news of God's love for
sinners through the gift of his Son, Jesus Christ. The Bible states that
we who have been redeemed and brought into this permanent fellowship with God
have been entrusted with this most priceless treasure. "But we have this
treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and
not to us."
(2 Corinthians 4:7)
In
another scripture (2 Corinthians 5:19-20) we are reminded that we are given the
responsibility to represent Christ and share the treasure of the Gospel with
those who have not heard of God's love and rescue plan through Jesus. “…Christ
Jesus was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses
against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God
making his appeal through us.”
We realize that we are partners, working
together to share the treasure of Jesus with all who have not heard or have not
yet believed in Jesus as Savior and Lord. What a privilege we have!
