Our Mission - it's really not that complicated!
LOVE GOD, LOVE PEOPLE AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST!
Grace is a community of Christ-followers who are striving to
live according to the simple three part mission to Love God,
Love People and Make Disciples.
The Bible is a big book packed with lots of history, poetry, wisdom and theology. However, we at Grace believe that the Bible teaches that the Christian life is best understood as the ongoing pursuit of learning to love God unreservedly, learning to love others unconditionally and staying focused on the task of making disciples. The good news is that the Christian life is not meant to be complicated.
Here's why we say this is the case. Some religious teachers once asked Jesus,"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets." Matthew 22:36-40
After Jesus gave his life on the cross and rose again he gave these instructions to his followers. "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing then in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20
In our life experience we are often tempted to buy-in to the insidious value of self-gratification, yet God has clearly called us to pursue and to excel in Loving God, Loving People and Making Disciples.
